Before I Die…
What is important to you
I happened on this art installation titled Before I Die today while I was doing my usual afternoon blog/website perusing. The article is pretty self-explanatory, but I was just so struck by this exhibit that I had to re-share it on here with you. It’s literally amazing to see what a couple hundred gallons of chalkboard paint and an abandoned building, combined with an infectious idea can create. An outlet for some, a stage for others. It’s incredible when you get to witness such a small idea take off so rapidly and become as near and dear to a stranger’s hearts as it is to the creator’s. The intimate and private (as well as funny) things that people shared kept me entertained for a long time. And of course, had me asking myself….what would I do before I die?

I am officially obsessed with this Chanel Le Vernis nail polish collection. I especially love the names; from left to right there’s Graphite, Perdidot, & Quartz.
I think they’re the perfect transition colors from summer to fall/winter. But sadly, it looks like I’ll be saving till August when they hit department stores. At $25 a pop these suckers don’t come cheap. But in my opinion, great style doesn’t have a price tag.

Extreme Couponing: An Extreme Sport
In a fit of insomnia tonight I stumbled upon one of my favorite guilty pleasures, late-night reality TV shows. This particular show dealt with a subject matter of which I wish I was more familiar, for my wallet and my wardrobe’s sake….Extreme Couponing!
Having watched this particular program on several sleepless occasions I was fairly familiar with the content. Obsessive (borderline hoarding) person spends countless hours clipping mountains of coupons all to score that BIG DEAL which will ensure them with enough deodorant and Life cereal for a family of five for 15 years, all while turning any extra space in their tiny, cramped houses into mini storage units for their wares crap. While watching this I realized that it take a lot to be an extreme couponer, and I soon became aware that although I’m ambitious and hopeful to be a good saver one day I will never be able to master these vital extreme couponing skills:
1.) Kung Fu scissor mastery
2.) hawkeye vision for spotting coupons & sales at 500 yards
3.) killer instincts
4.) hulk-like arms for heaving coupon libraries
5.) strong back muscles for dumpster-diving after discarded coupons & receipts
6.) track star legs for outrunning other extreme couponers to sale items
7.) and the fearless film crew from “Hoarders”
Ahhhhh….I wish I had that much time on my hands
